Element Biosciences, a San Diego-based NGS startup, reached out to me in 2022 with their sequencing machines already packed with remarkable features. However, their design team was facing significant challenges: no style guide, design system, design-to-development process, or design roadmap in place. In just 10 months, a team of two, including myself, completely transformed the user experience. We established a well-structured design process and a comprehensive design roadmap.

Led the design team in establishing a design review and release process.

Developed and maintained a design roadmap in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
Design Systems
Embraced Material UI as the foundation for our design system and crafted a customized AVITI design library.
Established clear guidelines for the ongoing maintenance of the design system.
Implemented accessibility standards throughout the product, ensuring compliance with guidelines.
Design & Prototype of AVITI OS
Hands-on and direct involvement in the design of AVITI OS software, including wireframes, Figma prototypes, the creation of a Figma design system, and high-fidelity UI screens.
